Opportunities of Service and Outreach
The church has a responsibility to assist those in need.
St James implores us:
"What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
Can faith save him?" (2;14) "Thus , , , faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead" (2;17) . "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only" (2;24).
Our Parish is constantly striving in ministering to the needy,
feeding the hungry,
visiting the sick, lonely and elderly,
assisting at health facilities, hospice centers, or care homes,
aiding refugees, orphans, immigrants, or the handicap
and encourages all parishioners
to assist financially, in kind, or offering their time and talents
in these outreach programs.
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" (James, 2;26).
